Matcha Detox Smoothie Bowl

I love smoothies. They are my morning go-to, because, who doesn't love throwing everything into a blender?

Just a word of warning - most of them are not pictureque at all but this Matcha Detox Smoothie Bowl is a different story.

It's vibrant green base comes from Matcha which is made from the Camellia Sinensis plant. Once powdered, it is stored away from oxygen and light forcing it to overproduce chlorophyll. Pretty cool, eh?

Matcha, although great, is very expensive. My last jar which makes about 30 servings cost me about $30.

Matcha has a small amount of caffeine and a huge amount of health benefits, which makes it the perfect detox smoothie. Just to name a few of its amazing benefits:

Packed with antioxidants.

::ONE cup of Matcha Tea has as many antioxidants as 10 cups of green tea::

::Contains EGCg and other catechins which counteract the effects of pollution, UV rays, radiation, which can all lead to cell and DNA damage::

Boosts metabolism and burns calories.

::It's calorie free:: ::Can help you burn calories by up to 4 times without raising your heart rate or blood pressure::

::Lowers cholesterol::

Detoxifies effectively and naturally. ::Chlorophyll helps cleanse blood and help prevent harmful toxins within colon walls and flushes them out of the body::

::Rich in fiber and vitamins::

::Naturally boosts energy:: ::Calms the mind and relaxes the body::
